Streamlining the home-buying journey in Egypt.
An exclusive real-estate app for the Egyptian market that enables citizens to purchase flats without the need of contacting greedy brokers.
Study overview
Egyptian citizens often face difficulty in buying new flats or selling their own, owing to broker greed and the fear of counterfeit documents.
Study goal
Offer citizens a secure “way” for finding flats and apartments, eliminating the need for brokers. We will have a dedicated team to verify the ownership and validity of the papers and documents of listings. Additionally, provide stakeholders with a way to get paid for the service.
Solution & why
Provide Egyptian citizens with an Android platform that enables them to view apartments locally or by picking a location and price range, and facilitates their connection with the owner rather than brokers. The app will also provide info about the validity of the apartment’s documents. The app will provide a paid advertising system that will give certain flats more exposure
Why this solution : After running surveys we found that the majority of our potential users has a (low to mid)-income jobs, so it’s likely that most of them won’t be owning expensive iOS devices.
The impact
Our application had a great impact on the lives of Egyptian consumers in search of a new residence. They now feel significantly safer while using the service and searching for an apartment.
“I really liked the pop-up in the home page that made sure I understand that the blue badge means owner’s papers are legal and safe”

What I learnt & next steps
It’s important to know how users feel about something and understand their essential needs in this particular project I learnt how just letting the user feel “secure & safe” about a service can go a long way.
Next steps: might be trying to conduct additional rounds of usability studies to learn more about the demands of our customers and to determine whether or not there are any problems that still need to be fixed..
